Magazine collage

Orginal

Modified

In my found magazine image, there is a strong use of line, particulary vertical and some varations of diagonals. What is even more prominent is the shapes of rectangles and circles in the architecture of the building in the image. The color is mostly a hues of black and white but also an accent color of a pinkish-purple. The values are stark in comparisons to eachother. Visual textures imply smooth building like exterior. The positive and negative space are a huge element between the sky and building or the blackened windows and white building.
There is a vertical line pattern of the each level of Windows and structure. This image has high contrast in value, as it almost completely black and white. I believe the text although subtle in value and conrast is a main emphasis in context and imagery. The scaled view makes the viewer feel as they are below, looking up at the massive hotel.

In my modified image there is strong conflicting diagonal lines. There are a variety of sharp rectangles and triangles that take up the space. As the color is technically the same as the orginal  the space feels opposite in comparison. There's is a ample postivite and negative space that fills the compassion that manipulates the whole tone of the collage.
Pattern and contrast is emphasized in the black and white lines. The purple accents create a variety of interest as well.
